I got an email from you that the item for me was being scheduled to be shipped on 03/21/2007 (from US to Germany).
Since then nothing changed on your website regarding the status of this delivery, it’s still in status “Acceptance”:
* Electronic Shipping Info Received, March 21, 2007
* Acceptance, March 10, 2007, 12:53 pm, PULLMAN, WA 99163
* International Dispatch, July 10, 2006, 3:08 pm, Chicago (O’Hare) AMC
Could someone please tell me why this is taking so long? It’s now 1 week and no status change. What do you do at USPS with the items that takes so long?
I even called your customer service two days ago but the woman at the end of the line who sounded kinda bored to answer my questions had no other details.
The first time something gets delivered via USPS to me and I can assure you I reget it not using UPS, FedEx or any other “we don’t need more than 1 week to get your item on a plane” delivery service.
It’s pissing me off.
I wonder if I get an answer…
I just realized that the “international dispatch” date is 07/10/2006 … WTF?!?
Here’s the answer from USPS

I doubt I would’ve gotten a more useful answer if I had left the rant aside.
In the meantime I contacted the sender of the package and told him about the wrong date (July 10, 2006) listed on the USPS website and that I neighter received it nor did the status change.
That’s the answer from the sender which explains a lot:
Thank you for your email. Unfortunately, sometimes USPS recycles their
tracking numbers so when you check it brings up old information. We are
sorry for this inconvenience, but please be assured that the package has
been shipped out. You should be receiving it within a few days. It is
possible it got held for a few days at customs, but please let us know if
you do not receive your package soon.

Using Tracking Numbers multiple times? What did the USPS decision-makers smoke when they accepted that piece of software to run their business?
Today (04/05/2007) the package was delivered to me.
The customs declaration signed by the sender is dated 03/22/2007 which states the item was travelling for exactly 2 weeks or 10 business days. That’s kinda moderate, neighter fast nor extremly slow.
The main issue I was so pissed about (no status updates) seems to be due to the fact that USPS doesn’t track Global Priority Mail all the way to the recipient.
If they had noted this on their “Track & Confirm” status page I never would have complained about it in the first place…
Although the item was delivered the status page at usps.com still says “Status: Acceptance” like 2 weeks ago.
Even though I don’t know for how long the item was hold at customs I can say the package wasn’t opened for inspection.
